FRODSHAM-based One Voice community choir has been awarded a £3,000 grant from The National Lottery Community Fund to help with its relaunch following the lockdown.
As a result, One Voice now hopes to return to weekly rehearsals from June 23 at Main Street Community Church, Main Street, Frodsham at 7.15pm.
The choir will be led by their new highly experienced musical director, Joe Mann, who is known for his involvement in the Chester Mystery Plays and fringe productions.
The choir is open to everyone and all singing abilities. There are no auditions required and anyone interested in joining One Voice should either go along to a rehearsal or get in touch via the choir’s website www.onevoicecommunitychoir.org or email: onevoicewa6@gmail.com
One Voice founder Ann Johnson said: “We launched in October 2019. After just 10 weeks the members had grown to 27. They held their first Friends and Family Christmas performance at Frodsham Community Centre.
“This was attended by over 60 people. Unfortunately, in March 2020 all public gatherings had to stop due to Covid. We have tried to keep our members involved with rehearsals and socials on Zoom. But everyone is looking forward to coming together to sing again face to face.
“Singing is well known for its health and well-being benefits. This choir will be a great asset to the local community.”
