Hannah set to take on the London Marathon for charity

HANNAH Boyd, a runner from Frodsham, is set to take on the London Marathon next year in support of Breast Cancer Now.

A former student of Helsby High School and Sixth Form, Hannah currently works for HiQ Tyres & Autocare, a long-time partner of the charity, and has secured a marathon place on behalf of HiQ to raise funds for the cause.
Breast Cancer Now is the UK’s largest breast cancer research and support charity, dedicated to advancing research, offering advice, and building a supportive community for those affected by breast cancer.
Hannah’s marathon run will build on HiQ’s longstanding support for Breast Cancer Now, helping the charity pursue its goal of ensuring that by 2050, everyone diagnosed with breast cancer lives and is supported to live well.

“Growing up in Frodsham and competing locally, I’ve always felt the strong support of my community,” said Hannah. “My parents, both seasoned marathoners, have been a huge inspiration to me—my dad has completed more than 30 marathons and several ultramarathons, which sparked my love for running from a young age.
“My time running for my school’s athletics and cross-country teams, winning multiple titles, and competing with Frodsham & Halton Harriers shaped my passion for the sport. Now, I’m excited to channel that passion into raising funds for Breast Cancer Now.”
Hannah has already raised more than £1,000 towards her personal £2,500 fundraising target, showing strong support from friends, family and her colleagues.

As HiQ Tyres & Autocare’s digital & eCommerce specialist, Hannah plays a central role in HiQ’s support for Breast Cancer Now. Throughout October—also recognised as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, or ‘Pink October’—the initiative enabled HiQ to exceed its ambitious £150,000 fundraising target, set at the beginning of its fundraising partnership with the charity. Altogether, HiQ has raised more than £20,000 for Breast Cancer Now this year alone, with Hannah’s efforts hoping to boost this total further.
At the heart of this year’s campaign was the introduction of the ‘HiQ Hannah’ pink van, a vibrant magenta mobile service van proudly wrapped in Breast Cancer Now branding and inspired by the breast cancer ribbon logo. The van, which provides tyre fitting and car servicing to customers at mobile locations, was named after Hannah and has become a symbol of HiQ’s commitment to the cause.

“Our annual Pink October campaign brings people together to make a real difference,” said Hannah. “The incredible support from HiQ and the local community has been incredibly motivating so far, and it really inspires me to take this next step with the London Marathon.
“I’m so thankful to everyone who’s contributed to this cause, and confident that together, we can continue to raise awareness and vital funds. It’s a cause that means so much to me, my family, and my colleagues at work.”
