FRODSHAM Town Council’s planning committee has decided to make no objections in principle to a proposal to re-thatch the roof of a historic cottage in Main Street, Frodsham
But they will refer the application to Cheshire West and Chester Council’s conservation officer.
Owner Joan Hardin is seeking planning permission to change the thatched roof of the cottage at 89 Main Street from straw to water reed.
The Grade 2 Listed cottage is believed to date from around 1640.
The proposals involve only the thatched roof at the front of the building. The rear elevation has a slate roof.
The final decision will be made by Cheshire West and Chester Council.
