FRODSHAM and district Stroke Club celebrated its fourth Christmas with a party at Frodsham Community Centre.
The club was found in April 2015 in memory of the late Alan Johnson, a Frodsham firefighter.
Members, including people recovering from stroke and their families, friends and carers, were welcomed by chairman Ken Shaw before being entertained by the multi-talented Martin Barry.
They tucked into a hot-pot supper and danced to Martin’s singing. In keeping with its aim of supporting the community, the club made a donation to Weaver Vale Primary School’s Special Needs Unit.
Run by a committee of volunteers, the club meets once a month and provides fun for members by way of trips to places of interest and special programmes like on the annual Founder’s Day & Big Bingo evenings.
Dennis Taylor, stroke survivor, said; ‘It was a wonderful evening. The Committee worked hard to arrange the food and entertainment. The atmosphere was really Christmassy.”
