FRODSHAM Town Council has awarded grants totalling £8,060 to eight local organisations.
The Mayor, Cllr Alan Oulton, presented cheques to representatives of the groups at a meeting of the council.
He told them: “There were another three groups who applied for grants who were unsuccessful because they did not meet the criteria – but that means there was a success rate of about 90 per cent.
“A lot of hard work went into awarding the grants because they were all worthy causes.”
The eight successful groups were: Weavervale and Sandstone Cycle Forum: £510; Frodsham Community Centre: £`1,000; The Zodiac Operatic Society: £1,000; Frodsham History Society: £150; Castle Park Arts: £500; Frodsham Parish Hall: £1,100; 4th Frodsham Scouts: £3,500; Weaver Words Literature Festival: £300.
