Dramatised tribute to Frodsham’s World War 1 fallen

A MOVING, dramatised tribute to the 152 people from Frodsham who gave their lives during World War 1 is to be performed at St Laurence Church.
Frodsham Players, Frodsham Choral Society, Frodsham WE., Frodsham primary schools and the Royal British Legion) will collaborate in the production on Sunday, November 11 at 4pm as part of the town’s Armistice Centenary commemoration.
Directed by Carole Shinkfield, it will be an emotional and touching combination of drama, songs and readings with a focus on Frodsham’s fallen.
Members of the Womens Institute and friends have been knitting poppies to be handed out during the performance by children from Frodsham C of E, Manor House, Weaver Vale and S. Luke’s primary schools, one for each person from Frodsham, who was killed during the war.
The WI. will serve refreshments after the performance. Entry is free, but donations will be collected on behalf of the Royal British Legion.
