Frodsham Town Council chairman resigns

FRODSHAM Town Council is looking for a new member – and a new chairman – following the resignation of chairman Alan Oulton.

Cllr Oulton announced his resignation because of pressure of work – he is currently having to work away from home much of the time.

His resignation means a vacancy exists for a councillor in Castle Park Ward and an election will be held if one is requested by any 10 electors in the ward. The request must be made by November 5.

It was only at the council’s last meeting that three new councillors were co-opted to bring the council up to full strength.

They were Lucy Sumner (Waterside Ward), Phil Griffiths (Castle Park Ward) and Helen Hayes (Overton and five Crosses Ward).
