LOCAL MP Mike Amesbury was invited to Kingsley Community Primary School today (Thursday) to read to the children and see some of the amazing costumes on display as part of World Book Day.
He read excerpts from Mr Big to Key Stage 1 pupils and The Great Paper Caper to Key Stage 2 children.
Mike said: “And I thought Parliament was full of colourful characters!
“I was really honoured to be invited along to be a guest reader and was really impressed by the children’s costumes.
“I know what a huge amount of work would have gone into everything behind the scenes, from parents, pupils and teachers.
“World Book Day is a tremendous amount of fun and a brilliant way to get children reading. Well done everyone!”
Youngsters at schools across Frodsham & Helsby and surrounding areas celebrated World Book Day dressing up as their favourite.
