A NEW litter-picking group has been launched in Frodsham and Helsby and plans to launch as part of the Great British Spring Clean in April.
The Frodsham and Helsby Litter Angels will carry out their first clean-up on Friday, April 3 outside the Bear’s Paw, Frodsham, starting at 11am
It’s risk assessed and insured via Keep Britain Tidy and people can book their place via their website. All tools and personal protective equipment will be provided.
Team leader James Coates said: “We were only formed in January and we only have a handful of members as yet. But we are looking for more to join.
“The April session will be our first big session. We plan to meet moving forward, once every two months, and have a host of grot spots programmed in.”
Places earmarked for early treatment include, in Frodsham, Kydds Wynt, the car park behind WH Smith, Alvanley Terrace, Church Street and, in Helsby, Helsby Hill to discourage walkers from dropping bottles which have caused fires in previous years.
A litter pick with Weaver Vale Primary School is being planned for Ship Street in partnership with the Rotary Club.

Hi James
I’d be interested joining your group if possible?
Kind Regards
Lesa
We have a team where I now live. We have over 40 members & meet every two weeks. It really does make a huge difference plus it makes others think twice about litter when they see them out & about.
