The 4th Frodsham Scouts

THE 4th Frodsham Scouts, with more than 100 members urgently needs more adult helpers to enable it to grow further.
This was revealed by Mersey Weaver District Scout Commissioner Oliver Chambers at Chamboree – the international camp organised every four years by Cheshire Scouts.
The event at Tabley, near Knutsford, was visited by Frodsham’s deputy Mayor, Cllr Liam Jones
He attended a VIP reception at Chamboree and was able to meet some of the participants and to gain an insight into the activities of the largest youth movement in the world.
Cllr Jones said “It was fantastic to see Frodsham 4th Scouts, 3rd Frodsham Sea Scouts, Explorers from Beacon as well as young people from Helsby and Norley all enjoying their time at the Chamboree and learning things which they wouldn’t learn elsewhere.
“ I’d like to thank Mersey Weaver District Commissioner Oliver Chambers and the Scouts for making me welcome and showing me around the camp”.
Mr Chambers said “4th Frodsham is one of the largest groups in the district with over 100 members and we are desperate to grow the adult membership so the group can accept more young people. The group has 40 young people of age on its waiting list wanting to join in events like Chamboree but without additional volunteer leaders we currently struggle to accommodate everyone.”
