Town Council give thanks to Father Michael

MEMBERS of Frodsham Town Council decided unanimously to write a letter of thanks to the Rev Michael Mills, Vicar of St Laurence’s Church, Frodsham since 1995, on his retirement.

The Rev Mills – known affectionately to many as “Father Michael” – is leaving Frodsham on his retirement.

A priest for more than 40 years, he moved to Frodsham some 23 years ago.

Two years ago, he became only the second individual to be honoured with the Freedom of Frodsham, in recognition of his long and much valued service to the town, not just as vicar but also in many other aspects of local community life – in particular as an active member of Frodsham Players, where he directed many plays.

Father Michael admits he will miss Frodsham which he describes as “a wonderful community, a great place to live and work in and a wonderful place to bring up children.”

The council’s letter will refer not just to his spiritual leadership but also his other work in the community.
