Ready meals at home – but not in Frodsham

LEISURE provider Brio has launched a scheme to provide affordable, nutritious ready meals across parts of Cheshire West – but not Frodsham.

Wholly-owned by Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWAC), Brio operates Frodsham Leisure Centre and is traditionally known for providing leisure services

“Brio Meals at Home” a new initiative offering high-quality, home-cooked ready meals at affordable prices will expand the group’s commitment to community wellbeing.
Th initiative will be available across Brio Winsford, Brio Ellesmere Port, Blacon Beacon, Brio Northgate and Winsford Youth and Community Forum – but not Brio Frodsham
To launch the scheme, more than 500 meals will be sold at a special introductory price of just £2, with the standard price set at £3 thereafter.
Recognising the need for affordable and nutritious meal options in Cheshire West, Brio has partnered with the Cheshire West and Chester Council public health team to develop the service. The initiative is particularly aimed at supporting older residents, those needing additional support, students, or anyone looking for a hearty, nutritious meal. With freezer-friendly packaging and a regularly changing menu, Brio Meals at Home offers a healthier alternative to many supermarket-ready meals.
Residents who rely on ready-made meals will benefit greatly from the new service. Brio is encouraging members of the community to visit a participating venue and try the meals firsthand.

Contacted by Frodsham Life and asked why Brio Frodsham would not be offering the service, a Brio spokesperson said: “The scheme’s initial focus, developed in partnership with Public Health, was to prioritise areas where there was an identified need, which is why we started with sites like Blacon and Winsford.
“That said, following a successful soft launch, it’s clear there’s real demand for these healthy, home-cooked meals across all our communities. We’re now working on plans to upscale the project and expand it to more locations as soon as possible.”
