RESIDENTS of Frodsham and Helsby are being invited to reconnect with nature and improve their wellbeing this autumn through a series of free ‘Mindful Contact with Nature’ courses, hosted by the Natural Health Service in Cheshire, as part of The Mersey Forest programme.
The 8-week courses, which are completely free to attend, aim to reduce stress, lift mood, and build personal resilience by encouraging participants to slow down, tune into the natural world, and take time for their mental health. Sessions are led in peaceful outdoor settings and combine gentle mindful practices with nature-based activities.
Courses will run at two locations:
Castle Park Arts Centre, Frodsham
• Thursdays from 18th September to 13th November
• Two sessions available: 10am–12pm and 1pm–3pm
Helsby Community Centre
• Mondays from 15th September to 10th November
• Further course from 17th November to 19th January
• Two sessions each Monday: 11am–1pm and 1:30pm–3:30pm
Bob Wheat, who leads the sessions, says the aim is to “offer people a chance to press pause, de-stress, and find some peace and presence in the natural world around them.”
The courses are part of a wider programme of health and wellbeing activities supported by The Mersey Forest, which has been working to connect people with the outdoors through local woodlands and green spaces for nearly 30 years.
Spaces are limited, so booking is essential. To reserve your place, contact Bob Wheat on 07507 013283 or email mail@merseyforest.co.uk.
