Barbecue sets hedgerow ablaze at Frodsham

A FIRE caused by a barbecue spread to a nearby hedgerow at Frodsham.
The blaze was yesterday (Sunday) in Beech View Road, Frodsham, and firefighters from Runcorn were called to the scene at around 1.30pm.
They found the fire had been started by a barbecue outside a house and had spread to the hedge. Neighbours had tackled the flames using a domestic hose and had extinguished the fire.
But firefighters use a hose reel jet to dampen down the whole area to make sure it was safe and then used a thermal imaging camera to ensure there were not hotspots remaining.
They were at the scene for about half-an-hour.
