Councillor Bernie Wade speaks out on why she wishes to be re-elected

COUNCILLOR Bernie Wade – one of six candidates seeking a seat in the Waterside ward of Frodsham Town Council – has spoken of why she wishes to be re-elected.
She says she is very passionate about Frodsham and the local community and would like to continue to represent the views of people in Waterside.
“I would like to continue to work with other councillors for the better of everyone in Frodsham.
Cllr Wade followed in the footsteps of her father, the late John Ritchie when she first joined the council a number of years ago.
She said: “I moved to Frodsham from Helsby 54 years ago and attended Frodsham Secondary Modern School.
“I’ve raised my family here and for many years I’ve worked in the local area, having worked at Meadow Court before it’s recent closure. I think that might make me a ‘ local’
“During my time on the council, l’ve recently chaired the Events committee and worked closely with members of all political parties for one common goal – to improve our town for its residents.
“Whilst being on the council I have been closely involved in many projects, including the reinstatement of the Green Gates Park on Ship Street5 and the improvements to the memorial path on the way to the War Memorial to make it accessible for all the community.
“As chair of the Events Committee, I’ve been very proud to work closely with a dedicated number of councillors and volunteer residents, that came together to host “ The Picnic in the Park” event to celebrate the late Queen’s Jubilee and also the Halloween Party, both free to attend events for our community and vitally important part for giving back to our community of Frodsham.
I would love to continue serving the residents of Waterside and Frodsham as a whole.”
In total, six candidates are standing in Waterside ward – all as Independents or as individuals.
The others are: Patrick Thomas Eakin, Aidan James Holman, Richard Ian Lofts, Lucy Rebecca Sumner and Frank Pennington.
The election takes place on Thursday May 4.
