NEW chairman of Frodsham Town Council is Cllr Helen Hayes.
The Overton and Five Crosses ward councillor, who first joined the council is October 2019, replaces Cllr Judith Critchley.
She was elected at the council’s annual meeting and will be chairman until May next year.
Her first act on election was to pay tribute to her predecessor.
She said: “I would like to thank Cllr Judith Critchley for her time as chair over what has been a quite extraordinary and challenging year.”
Cllr Critchley highlighted a number of things on which the council had made progress over the last two difficult years, including completion of the cemetery extension, refurbishment of the town’s Grade 2 Listed war memorial and memorial gate and ongoing provision of CCTV in the town centre, being done in co-operation with Cheshire West and Chester Council.
During her time on the council, the new chairman has served on the amenities committee, the events committee and the Ship Street Play Area working group.
She will n ow serve on the policy, process and revenue committee, the events committee and the staffing committee.
