FRODSHAM Town Council’s planning committee has raised no objections to proposals to redevelop the Grade 2 Listed Old Hall Hotel, in Main Street, Frodsham.
The scheme seeks to vary earlier proposals, approved in 2022, for the redevelopment of the site.
It involves the part demolition of the hotel and ancillary buildings and conversion into three residential units.
Five new dwellings would be built, with associated car parking, gardens and landscaping.
The Old Hall closed as a hotel in 2020 and has not traded since.
It is believed the front of the building was originally two 17th century cottages w=hich were later joined and extended in the 19th century to form a house.
Frodsham’s planning committee decided to raise no objection to the proposals, subject to the agreement of Cheshire West and Chester Council’s conservation officers/
The scheme affects a part listed wall, but will allow the retention of a pond and tide stones at the rear of the building.
The final decision will be made by Cheshire West and Chester’s planning committee.
