Town Council lodges objection to affordable homes plan

FRODSHAM Town Council has lodged objections to a plan for 16 affordable homes on land off Clifton Crescent, Frodsham.
The site is currently vacant following the demolition, last year, of Meadow Court apartments, which had been deemed as no longer being fit for purpose.
Weaver Vale Housing Trust now wish to redevelop the site with 16 affordable, accessible low-energy dwellings
The proposals are described as an exemplar scheme designed to meet local needs, offering high quality in terms of its architecture, environmental sustainability and varied housing
provision. They would l benefit both the new and existing local communities and bring new life to a brownfield site which has been left unused since 2021.
But Frodsham Town Council says 16 dwellings represents overdevelopment of the site and express concern at the likely increase in traffic on Clifton Crescent.
They also say parking provision on the site does not meet Cheshire West and Chester Council (CW&C) provisions for parking.
Cheshire Police have been consulted on the proposals and say they welcome development of the site which is in an area where levels of crime are higher than elsewhere in Frodsham and that redevelopment of the land could benefit residents of the area.
A final decision on the proposals will be made by CW&C.
