Fire crews tackle suspected arson incident at Sutton Weaver

TWO fire crews were called out to tackle a suspected arson incident involving wooden pallets and railway sleepers at Sutton Weaver near Frodsham.

One fire engine from Runcorn and one from Widnes attended Shortly before 5.30pm following reports of a fire near to the River Weaver.

Firefighters attended and discovered a large amount of wooden pallets and railway sleepers alight. They used a hose reel jet to put the fire out and continued to damp down. They were at the scene for an hour-and-a-half.
The fire is believed to have been started deliberately and anyone with any information should call Cheshire Constabulary on 101, quoting IML 781342, give the details via https://www.cheshire.police.uk/ro/report or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
