AFTER their big win the previous week, Frodsham suffered a heavy 148 run defeat at the hands of Old Parkonians in the UKFast Cheshire League.
Parkonians batted first and compiled a challenging 226-7, despite some good bowling from T. Halliwell, who was rewarded with figures of 4-51.
Frodsham were never in the hunt and were rolled over for 78, with Rob Kent’s 18 the top score.
However, Frodsham 2nd were able to gain some respectability for the club with a five wicket win over the Old Parkonians second string.
Parkonians were held to 148-6 and while Frodsham lost early wickets Mike Connolly, 66 not out and Callum Madigan, 33 got to grips with the bowling and took Frodsham to 149-5 and victory.
Kingsley enjoyed a big win over Barnston.
Batting first, Kingsley hit 187-9, Ben Stoddart hitting 80 and Alistair Begg 31. Barnton struggled from the outset and with Ben Ainsworth taking 2-26 and Adrian Burden 2-22 were held to 95-9.
Kingsley 2nd suffered a heavy defeat against Chester Boughton Hall who amassed 282-4. Kingsley could only muster 155-6, with Richard Taylor top scoring with 37.
In the Vivio Cheshire County League, Alvanley defeated Ashton-on-Mersey.
Batting first, Alvanley reached 236-8, Stephen Charles hitting 55, Chris Charles 54 and Arthur Brunswick 34.
Stephen Charles was on form with the ball as well, taking 3-25 as Ashton were bowled out for 151. Michael Rowland took 3-42.
