The painted rock craze arrives in Frodsham

THE painted rock craze has arrived in Frodsham – and provided a diversion for children during school holidays.

So much so that one local business has entered into the spirit of things by creating their own decorated rocks, hiding them around Frodsham and Helsby and offering goody bag prizes to anyone who finds them.

Cheshire Relocation, in High Street, Frodsham first started hiding the rocks last October and got so much feedback from local children – and, indeed, residents of all ages – they decided to carry on doing it this spring.

Helen Pass, from Cheshire Relocation, said: “For people who have not yet come across the painted rock craze, the idea is that you can paint rocks and hide them in parks or other public places for people to find.

“When you find one, you take a picture to share on Facebook. You can then either ‘re-hide’ the rock or keep it.

“My children love it. They find it so exciting to find a rock, or see a rock we have painted appear on a local rocks Facebook pave.”

Helen decided to get some Cheshire Relocation rocks made after one of her staff found a rock hidden by a tree outside their office.

“It really made our day so we decided to get some Cheshire Relocation rocks made and hid them in various places around Frodsham and Helsby.

“Parents looking for something to do with their children during the holidays should get over to local parks and landmarks. We have put clues to where we have hidden them on our Facebook page.

“Anyone who finds one of our rocks should bring them to our office at 15 High Street, Frodsham and get a goody bag.”
