FRODSHAM went down heavily hosting Glazebury in the UKFast Cheshire Cricket League.
The visitors won the toss and elected to bat – a decision that soon began to look a good one even though Jamie London took a quick wicket with only six runs on the board.
Thereafter it was all Glazebury with the next wicket not falling until the score was 193.
Glazebury opener Wayne Hargreaves h it 68 while their number three batsman hit a commanding 123, with 16 fours and two sixes.
After that the bowlers got on top with Matt Deakin taking 6-43 and London 4-34.
Unfortunately, Frodsham’s batsmen were unable to keep the momentum going.
Jaymie Smith and wicket keeper D Chriscole hit 27 each and James Palliser 18, but no-one else reached double figures against an accurate pace attack and Frodsham were all out for a disappointing 91.
Frodsham 2nd travelled to Caldy where they also lost.
Electing to field first, they restricted the home side to 176-6. Amir Rashid took 3-35 and Andrew Graham 2-40.
This proved to be more than enough for the home side as Frodsham could only muster 123, despite a spirited 42 from Dave Woodall.
Kingsley won by 78 runs at Barnton after the home side asked them to bat first.
Opener Haris Yassin hit 131 not out – a powerful innings including 15 fours and two sixes, and Toby Mullins weighed in with 50 not out before Kingsley declared on 246-2.
Barnton were all out for 168 with the Kingsley bowlers sharing the wickets out. Tom Eyley, Tom Waring and Michael Yeatres took two wickets each.
Alvanley, languishing towards the bottom of the Cheshire County League division one table, enjoyed a timely victory at Marple, largely due to a superb 113 from skipper Michael Rowlands (pictured above).
Stephen Charles also came good with 65 as Alvanley hit 260-5. The home side were all out for 176 with Toby Honeysett taking 3-44 and Chris and Stephen Charles picking up two wickets each.
