Frodsham got cricket season off to a great start

FRODSHAM got the cricket season off to a great start with a three wicket victory over Offerton.
The visitors elected to bat first but were soon in difficulty as the Frodsham bowlers swiftly made inroads into a fragile batting line-up.
Matt Deakin took 3-23, Jamie London 3-40 and Nick James 3-31 as Offerton were bowled out for 114.
Frodsham also found runs hard to get at first, losing three cheap wickets.
But a sound 25 from Roger London and 21 from Callum Madigan put them on the road to victory.
Frodsham 2nd picked up 15 points without facing a single delivery. Their game at Irby was cancelled because the home side couold not raise a team.
Kingsley had to be content with a draw after batting first and hitting 205-8 against Winnington Park.
Ben Stoddart hit 44 and Toby Mullins 47.
The visitors never looked likely to reach their target but were clinging on for the draw at 159-9 at the close. Tom Ey ley took 3-40.
