McGrogan to the rescue as Frodsham gain exciting victory

FRODSHAM came out on top after an exciting home match against Warrington side Glazebury – winning by 13 runs.
Batting first, Frodsham were bowled out for a modest5 94 – a total which would have been much less but for some late hitting by No 9 batsman Jack McGrogan, 28 not out.
They had started badly, losing a wicket before a run had been scored. Daniel Connolly, 15 and Jaymie Smith 13 put on 39 for the second wicket, but after that the batting fell away until McGrogan chipped in at the end. The side were all out in 28 overs.
Glazebury also struggled for runs and were all out for 81 in 29 overs. Top bowlers for Frodsham were Matt Deakin with 5-28. McGrogan with 3-25 and Jamie London with 2-10.
Frodsham 2nd travelled to Glazebury and also came home with a victory.
Brendan Connolly hit 61 as Frodsham totalled 141-8. Glazebury batted well but were all out for 123 with Andrew Graham taking 4-19 and Pete O’Grady 3-16.
Kingsley won by 28 runs at Northwich after batting first and hitting 107. Skipper Ben Stoddart top scored with 28 and Charlie Loy chipped in with 21.
Northwich were all out for 79, with Stoddart also in form with the ball and taking 6-24. Martyn Jenks took 3-20.
Alvanley picked up 25 points after Christleton had to concede their match through being unable to raise a team.
Alvanley 2nd won by three wickets at Runcorn, restricting the home side to 168-8 and hitting off the runs for the loss of seven wickets.
