Richard Watt 50 not enough for a Frodsham victory

A FINE half-century from opener Richard Watt was not enough to bring Frodsham victory.
Batting first in their UKFast Cheshire League game at Bowdon Vale, they hit a respectable 159.
Watt top scored with 54 and there were useful contributions from Roger London, 31, Jack McGrogan, 21 and Leon Pietrzak, 20,
But although Jamie London bowled well to take 2-43, the home side were able to reach their target with overs to spare.
Frodsham 2nd hit a useful 197-5 at home to Winnington Park.
Pete O’Grady top scored with 64 and Thomas Burgess was unlucky to miss-out on his 50 by one run.
Winnington Park lost three cheap wickets but then their batsmen got a grip on the game and they won by four wickets.
Ian Deakin and Dave Woodall picked up two wickets each for Frodsham.
Kingsley won by seven wickets in the Cheshire County League game against Ashley.
They bowled Ashley out for 137, Tom Eyley taking 3-41 and Tom Waring 3-23.
Then Kingsley chased down the runs for the loss of only three wickets, Harris Yassim hammering a belligerent 82.
Alvanley went down by four wickets at Sale despite hitting an impressive 255-4.
Jarryd Basson hit 82, Simon Gee 79 not out and Stephen Charles 42 and it was an optimistic Alvanley team that went in for tea.
But Sale went for the runs and reached their target with two balls remaining.
