Richard Watt hits 50 as Frodsham celebrate a big win

FRODSHAM celebrated a big win at home to Kerridge – with opener Richard Watt hitting an unbeaten 50.
Skipper Matt Deakin won the toss and decided to put the opposition in – a decision that provided to be a good one as Kerridge were bowled out for 104 in the 34th over.
Frodsham’s bowlers were all on form, with Deakin taking 3-28, Jamie London 3-27 and Jack McGrogan 3-21.
After tea, Frodsham lost two wickets but opener Watt was soon stroking the ball around to reach a well-deserved 50 not out and Tom Wilkinson joining him to h it 40 not out.
The result leaves Frodsham fourth in the Cheshire League division three.
Kingsley lost by 30 runs at home to Upton.
Skipper Haris Yassin won the toss and decided to field first – a decision which at first did not look too clever as the Upton openers put on 56 for the first wicket. But in the end, the visitors were held to 185-9 – which seemed a “gettable” total.
Yassin started things off well with a fine 61. But after that, things went increasingly wrong and despite a useful 36 from Ben Stoddart the batting line-up disappointed. In the end, Kingsley were back in the pavilion for 155.
Kingsley 2nd lost by seven runs in an exciting finish at Chester Boughton Hall.
The home side batted first and totalled 235-6, despite some good bowling from Joe Kitchen, 4-41.
Kingsley were all out for 228.
Alvanley drew at Bramhall after batting first and totalling 178, Simon Gee hitting 61.
The home side posted 147-7, Stephen Charles taking 6-26.
Alvanley 2nd lost by four wickets at Heaton Mersey after hitting 183-7. Skipper Chris
Jones top-scored with 43.
The home side hit 186-6
Alvanley 3rd won by 32 runs at Upton after hitting 179-7, Opener Luke Entwistle hit 42.
Upton were restricted to 147-8 in 40 overs.
