Active Cheshire delighted to support toy appeal

AWARD winning social enterprise Active Cheshire has presented their ‘’active gifts’’ to the Weaver Vale Housing Trust toy appeal.

The trust, which has got more than 6,000 affordable homes in Frodsham, Helsby, Northwich and other parts of Cheshire urged companies and organisations to brighten up the festive period for those in need. Collaborative efforts helped provide over 50 homes with the gifts and presents this Christmas.

The active gifts were juggling balls, skipping ropes, space hoppers, kites and other gifts to promote active play and encourage kids to get out and get active in a fun way.

Active Cheshire chief executive, Anne Boyd said “We are delighted to be supporting such a good cause and we continuously try to help more vulnerable people in our society. The choice of our active gifts and presents, promotes our strategy and will help kids develop active habits in the early years of their lives”. Anne concludes, “As a charity promoting a healthy and active lifestyle, we want to highlight the importance of active play, and help nurture a healthy and active generation”.

Weaver Wale Housing Trust Chief Executive Officer, Wayne Gales added: “It was great to meet with Active Cheshire today to be given the generously donated selection of toys for our customers in need, and we look forward to working together through 2018 and beyond.”

Working with a wide spectrum of organisations and partners to have a positive impact in all walks of life, Active Cheshire and is now looking forward to supporting Weaver Vale Housing Trust’s future initiatives to benefit the community. One of these initiatives includes, ‘Cotswold House’ project, which will look to provide accommodation and support for homeless women, and help them start a new journey in life. With such collaboration both organisations hope to demonstrate the success which can be achieved through teamwork and partnerships.
