FRODSHAM Sings, the community choir originally formed by Frodsham Transition Initiative in 2013, was “highly commended” in the Cheshire West Community and Voluntary Arts Awards.
Their award came in the Music category, which was won by Chester Male Voice Choir.
Cllr Louise Gittins, leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council said: “Many congratulations to all of our winners, highly commended and nominated groups and individuals. Withouut all of you we wouldn’t have such an exciting and varied arts programme across the borough.”
The High Sheriff of Cheshire, Jeannie France-Hayhurst presented the awards for Music, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Children and Youth Arts, Unsung Hero, The Sheriff of Cheshire Award, and the Outstanding Contribution Award.
Frodsham Sings have about 70 members although no auditions are necessary They rehearse mos weeks at Frodsham Community Centre. Anyone interested in joining should email info@frodshamsings.org
They perform at a number of events in Frodsham and around the North West, including Frodsham’s Festival in the Park, and various Christmas events, one of which is pictured above
