Frodsham’s 18th festival of walks is ready to get started

THE 18th Frodsham Festival of Walks gets under way on Friday, April 29 – with the aim of inspiring and motivating people to get out walking in 2022.
Organised by Frodsham Town Council, the festival will consist of 22 walks of varying lengths, ranging from “easy” to “challenging” and mostly in and around Frodsham.
All are led by experienced leaders and many had interesting themes, such as local history, geology or wildlife.
In most cases, all you have to do to take part is turn up. But a few re quire advance booking because places are limited.
New for this year is a Family Forest School and Woodland Walk Activity, Foraging in Hob Hey Wood, Mindfulness walk at Snidley Moor and A Picture-Trail Around Former Frodsham Schools. Old favourites include dog walks and the buggy push for little ones and their carers.
The festival continues until Sunday, May 8 and the individual walks and starting points are as follows.
Friday, April 29, 6pm Walk and Write, Castle Park Arts Centre, Gallery 2. Less than a mile.
Saturday, April 30, 10am. Two Trails. Castle Park car park. Eleven miles.

Saturday April 30, 2pm. The Factory Shop, Frodsham. Picture Trail around former Frodsham schools. Three miles.
Sunday, May 1, 2pm. Hob Hey Wood Discovery Trail. Junction of Langdale Way and Townfield Way. 1.4 miles.
Monday, May 2, 9.30am, Weaver Woodlands and Bluebells. The Stone Bridge, Frodsham. Twelve miles.
Monday, May 2, 10am. Buggy Push. Bradley Lane (Kingsley Road end) Two miles.
Tuesday May 3. 10am. Frodsham Dog Walk. Castle Park car park. Two miles.
