Library celebrates its birthday – with a murder mystery!

FRODSHAM Library is today celebrating its 70th birthday – with poetry, song, refreshments and a murder mystery!

The celebrations got under way at 10.30am with hot drinks, cakes and lots of chatter at a “poetry cafe.”
Poet John Lindley was on hand, regaling visitors with poems and writing odes for those who wanted them.
At 2pm it was birthday rhyme time for Under Fives with lots of songs, bubbles and maybe a biscuit or two.
Then the day will finish with a murder mystery at 7pm.
Written by bestselling author Ann Cleeves, creator of popular TV drama “Vera” visitors are invited to try and solve the mystery of who stabbed Harriet Stanhope, lady of the manor at Brockburn House, a sprawling country house deep in the Northumberland countryside, where the family and local residents have gathered together for a party.
The evening takes a shocking turn when Lady Stanhope is found stabbed outside the kitchen door, and only one of the residents of the house could have done the deed.
Visitors can listen to the suspects’ statements, gather clues, and then decide who is the guilty party.
