Violinist Daniel is a world champion – at Armwrestling!

A CLASSICALLY-trained violinist from Frodsham has become a world champion – at armwrestling.
Daniel Axworthy travelled to Dieppe, in France, to compete in the IFA World Armwrestling Championships, with his wife Lyndsey and nine-year-old daughter, Charlotte.
He came away with two gold medals, becoming World Champion in both right hand and left hand in the 70kg class.
He now wants to start an Armwrestling club in Frodsham.
He already has a number of people interested and has been training with them with the intention of applying to the Marshes Community Benefit fund to help start the club.
Daniel is very active on the Music scene in Frodsham and across the North West.
He recently did a series of classical recordings of Baroque violin concertos with Orchestra dell Arte (the St George’s Hall orchestra) which were filmed in a number of locations, including St Laurence Church, Frodsham, and Castle Park Arts Centre.
Daniel said: “I have been involved in Armwrestling for some years, after realising I had a talent for it.
“I have managed to balance both disciplines and even find they complement each other to some extend as both focus on finger strength in one way or another.”
