THREE fire engines were sent to a fire near Frodsham after tinder-dry grass and undergrowth burst into flames.
The blaze was in a field off Waterloo Lane an d fire engines from Winsford, Ellesmere Port and Powey Lane were involved in the operation.
Firefighters said the fire was on the edge of woodland and involved about 50 metres of grass and hedgerow.
They used two hose reel jets to extinguish the flames and then checked the area with a thermal imaging camera to ensure there were no hotspots remaining
