LOCAL MP Mike Amesbury has welcomed news that plans to knock down the Goods Shed in Frodsham have been scrapped.
In a letter to the Weaver Vale MP, Cheshire West and Chester Council revealed proposals to demolish the building and replace it with car parking spaces had been withdrawn.
Mike said: “This is really welcome news.
“Along with local campaigners and businesses I’ve been fighting to make sure we keep this piece of Frodsham history and put it to some use for the community.
“We’ll have to wait and see what comes down the line in terms of planned use for the building, but this is certainly a step in the right direction.”
