JAYMIE Smith hit a superb 130 as Frodsham amassed 250-7 in their UKFast Cheshire League game at Malpas.
He got good support from T Halliwell, 41 and Tom Wilkinson, 48 as Frodsham dominated the home side’s bowling.
But the Malpas batsmen dug in and denied Frodsham victory, batting out for a draw on 133-6. Halliwell was in good form with the ball as well, taking 3-21.
Kingsley won by two wickets in a competitive home game against Bunbury who batted first and hit 193-8, Ben Ainsworth taking 4-46 and Ben Stoddart 2-52.
Haris Yassim hit 59 as Kingsley replied with 195-8. There were useful innings’ too from Kieren Ollier, 38 not out and Alistair Begg, 37.
Kingsley 2nd suffered a heavy defeat at Barrow, being bowled out for 98 after Barrow had hammered 210-5
The bulk of Kingsley’s runs came from Steven Forster, 25 and Richard Taylor, 22.
Andrew Taylor took 2-40.
Alvanley went down heavily against Christleton who batted first and hit 201-9. Lee Ainsworth took 3-23 and Stephen Charles, 3-20 for Alvanley who were then dismissed for 145, Simon Gee top scoring with 49 and Ainsworth contributing 40.
Alvanley 2nd amassed 285-6 against a hapless Northwhich who were tumbled out for a meagre 77.
