“Unsung Heroes” award for Frodsham couple

TWO long-standing members of the Frodsham Players drama group received the “Unsung Heroes” award at the Cheshire West Voluntary Arts Network annual prize night.
Doug and Meriel Cashin have been members of the group for many years and have given outstanding service.
Meriel has single-handedly produced hundreds of stunning costumes for the society over the y ears, many of which have themselves won awards and still appear in their productions.
Doug is an expert set-builder, creator of props, an accomplished actor and has directed plays for the group on occasions.
Meriel received the award for both of them in the presence of the Mayor of Chester and Frodsham Mayor Cllr Liam Jones
Cllr Jones said he was delighted to see the couple win the “Unsung Heroes” award – and was also pleased to see the Proud Marys Choir – which has a number of Frodsham people in its ranks – pick up a “highly commended” award.
