ON a day when most local cricket was wiped out by torrential rain, Frodsham 2nd XI managed to beat not only the weather but also the opposition!
Travelling to Barrow, they were put in after losing the toss and proceeded to hit a high respectable 181-6 in 40 overs.
Callum Madigan hit a superb, unbeaten 76 and there were useful innings of 39 from Rob Kent and 29 from Michael Connolly.
The home side were restricted to 132-8, with Jamie London taking 3-20.
Frodsham 1st XI’s home game was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
Kingsley’s games were washed out, as were Alvanley’s 1st and 3rd XI games.
Alvanley 2nd managed to start their home game with Oulton Park and were 141-5 when the weather stepped in.
Opener Chris Jones hit 45 and Ben Aveyard was 30 not out when the game was abandoned
