Frodsham claim victory after hard-fought battle

FRODSHAM fought hard to claim a 21-run victory after being asked to bat first at Offerton.
Matt Williams top scored with 42 and opener Jaymie Smith hit a fine 37 as Frodsham reached 179-8 in 45 overs.
Skipper Matt Deakin hit a useful, unbeaten 22 and there were several other good performances from the batsmen.
Offerton’s reply started disastrously and at one stage they were 38-4. But the later batsmen fought back and at 158-8 the game could have gone either way. But two wickets were then snapped up and the hosts were eventually bowled out for 158.
Deakin took 3-45, Jamie London 3-26 and James Pallister 2-41.
Frodsham 2nd picked up the points the easy way when Wirral were unable to field a team and conceded.
Kingsley won by 47 runs at Hawk Green after batting first and hitting 187-9.
Bed Stoddart hit a match-winning 60 and skipper Haris Yassin contributed 38 and there was good support from the rest of the line-up.
Hawk Green were bowled out for 140 with Tom Waring taking 5-38 and Joel Logan 3-33.
Alvanley went down by six wickets after being dismissed for 139 by visitors Oulton Park.
Jono Whitley top scored with 32, Toby Honeysett 25 and Chris Charles 24.
Oulton Park lost two quick wickets but then coasted to a comfortable victory.
Alvanley 2nd enjoyed a big win at Oulton Park after hammering 204-9 in 50 ovrs.
Andy Bennion hit 79 before being run out and Phil Erasmus hit 37.
David Berstrand took 4-6 in five overs and Charlie Fletcher took 3-31 as Oulton Park w4ere bowled out for 95.
Alvanley 3rd won by nine wickets at Tranmere Victoria after dismissing the hosts for 84.David Summers took 4-10 and Archie Wilson 3-11. Isaac Buscombe hammered and unbeaten 50 as Alvanley knocked off the runs in 15 overs.
