FRODSHAM lost by 30 runs after a keenly contested game hosting Tranmere Victoria.
The home side won the toss and batted first, reaching 187 all out in 42.3 overs.
Matt Deakin bowled well for Frodsham, taking 6-29 in nine and-a-half overs. Leon Pietrzak picked up 2-42 and there was a wicket apiece for Jamie London and Nick James.
Frodsham made a good stab at getting the runs but it was only in the later stages of the innings when skipper Deakin 25 and James, 20 not out, came together that an unlikely victory seemed possible.
In the end they fell 30 runs short.
The 2nd XI game at Tranmere was a much closer affair, Frodsham going down by just one run after the home side had hit 152-7.
Kingsley drew at Oakmere after hitting a challenging 246-9, skipper Ben Stoddart hammering 97, with 11 fours and two sixes and Tom Waring contributing 40.
Oakmere never looked in the hunt and at one stage were 27-4. But the lower order dug in and at the close there were 142-8.
Kingsley used nine bowlers in a bid to dislodge the batsmen, but to no avail. Tom Eyley with 3-32 was the pick of the bowlers.
Alvanley won by six wicketsd at Macclesfifeld, bowling out the home side for 133 and replying with 134-4.
Chris Charles took 5-26 while Stephen Charles hit 39 and Alex Reid 39 not out.
