Frodsham beat the weather

Frodsham go down by 39 runs on the Wirral

FRODSHAM went down by 39 runs in their Cheshire Cricket League game at Burton.
Winning the toss, they asked the Wirral side to bat first and restricted them to 172-7 in 45 overs.
Matt Deakin took 3-31. Sohail Mona 2-38 and James Palliser 2-27.
Frodsham lost both openers cheaply and although Mona hit a useful 30 and Palliser, 29, and Jack McGrogan, 22, offered some late resistance, were bowled out for 133.
Frodsham 2nd trounced Tranmere Victoria in a low-scoring match at Frodsham.
The visitors were dismissed for 49, Leon Pietrzak taking 3-3 and Rob Kent 3-16. It was then left to opener Nick Corless to steer Frodsham to victory by eight wickets with an unbeaten 22.
Frodsham hosted an Alvanley XI in a friendly match which the visitors won by 25 runs.
Richard Barratt hit 50 not out and Harry Graham 52 not out as Alvanley hit 161-5.
Then Richard Watt hit 50 not out as Frodsham replied with 136.
Harry Graham, Sam Milburn and Ashley Hill picked up two wickets each for Alvanley.
Kingsley lost by four wickets at Winnington Park after being bowled out for 135.
Skipper Harris Yassin hit 56 and Ben Stoddart 35 but after that the Kingsley batting fell away.
The hosts lost six wickets chasing down the runs. Joel Logan took 3-33 for Kingsley.
Kingsley 2nd won at home to The Groves after hitting a challenging 220-8. Skipper Jaimie Creek hit 70 and Edward Leneghan followed this up with 78.
The Groves could only muster 184 in their 40 overs. Creek took 3-30 to complete a fine all-round performance.
Alvanley lost by nine wickets after being bowled out for 148 at Romiley. Their defeat would have been heavier but for a fine mid-innings 70 from Henry Young.
Jono Whitley hit 39.
Alvanley 2nd managed to hang on for a draw at home to Bramhall after the visitors had posted 2-6-5. Alvanley were 173 with one wicket remaining when the overs ran out.
Andy Bennion top-scored with 45.
Alvanley 3rd won by nine wickets at home to Appleton after dismissing the Warrington side for 139.
Ruben Buscombe and Nick Skidmore took three wickets each.
Luke Entwistle hit 57 not out for Alvanley.
