Frodsham in hard-fought game which could have gone either way

FRODSHAM lost by 20 runs in a hard fought game which could have gone either way.
Visitors Prestbury won the toss and elected to bat first and hit 185-9 – a useful total on the day.
But Frodsham made them fiight for their runs and James Palliser was the pick of a good bowling attack with 4-28.
Jamie London took 2-43.
Frodsham also had to fight for runs. Openers Daniel connolly, 35 and Jaymie Smith, 15, gave them a good start and Richard Watt, 38 and Adam Crosbty,40, kept up the good work.
But in the end they fell short by 20 runs and with nearly three overs to spare.
Frodsham 2nd lost by 26 runs at Irby where the home side chose to bat first.
Ian Deakin, Dave Woodall and Andrew Graham took two wickets each as the home side reached 171-8.
Skipper Andrew Graham top scored for Frodsham with 36 not out and figured in an unbroken last wicket partnership with Ian Deakin, 19 not out as the side finished on 145-9.
Earlier Dave Woodall, 25 and Neil Duffy, 27 had offered some hope.
Kingsley lost by nine wickets after being bowled out for 102 at Hawk Green.
It was an uncharacteristic batting performance by the Kingsley line-up and it wasn’t enough to trouble the home side who coasted to victory in under 19 overs for the loss of one wicket.
Alvanley lost by seven wickets at Urmston, dismissed for 149 after electing to bat first.
Skipper Michael Rowlands, 39 and Stephen Charles, 39, gave them a good start but after that only Chris Charles, 34, reached double figures.
The home side lost only three wickets reaching their target in 32 overs.
Alvanley 2nd hosted Warrington and won by five wickets after restricting them to 165-8.
Mark Szymura hit 85 not out and David Jones 54 as Alvanley replied with 167-5.
