FRODSHAM came out on top in a low-scoring game at Glazebury.
The home side won the toss and elected to field first and Frodsham’s batsmen were soon in trouble on a difficult wicket.
At 29-3, it was clear they were heading for a low score. Richard Watt, 11 and Matt Williamson, 16 were the only batters to reach double figures.
In the 32nd over they were all out for a disappointing 79.
But Glazebury soon found themselves in even more trouble as James Palliser took 6-11 and Matt Deakin 3-8.
They were all out for 42 in the 23rd over to give Frodsham a useful victory which earned them 16 points.
Kingsley went down by six wickets at Oakmere.
Batting first they were all out for 129 – largely thanks to the tail who helped them recover from 65-8.
Joel Logan hit 28 and Michael Yeates 22.
Oakmere hit off the runs for the loss of four wickets with Logan, 2-30, the most successful bowler for Kingsley.
Kingsley 2nd had a comfortable eight wicket victory over Chester County Officers.
The county Officers elected to bat first and totalled 121.
Peter Taylor hit 75 not out and skipper Jamie Creek 32 not out as Kingsley replied with 124-2.
Alvanley won by 40 runs at home to Congleton.
Batting first they hit 126 and then dismissed the visitors for 86.
Alvanley 2nd drew at Marple after batting first and posting 186-8, Henry Young 50.
The home side were 139-9 at the close, C Fletcher taking 4-38 and H Graham 4-41.
