FRODSHAM picked up 19 points the easy way in the Cheshire Cricket League – when opponents Kerridge were unable to raise a team.
It was the second times that Frodsham – still waiting for their first league victory of the season – had seen their game called off, leaving the team somewhat short of match practice.
Members are hoping next Saturday’s game, at Heaton Mersey Village, will be played.
Frodsham 2nd XI did play – but lost by three wickets at Wirral.
Batting first, Frodsham saw their first four batsmen all back in the pavilion without scoring. Peter O’Grady came to the rescue with a well-struck 39 not out and Trevor Davies hit an unbeated 23. But the final total of 80 was never going to be enough.
The home side also struggled for runs thanks to good bowling from Andrew Graham, 4-22, and Davies, 3-17. But they reached their target with three wickets remaining.
Kingsley lost by 114 runs at Hawk Green after the home side had hammered a massive 310-8 in 50 overs.
Ben Ainsworth hit 65 and Ben Stoddart 42, but Kingsley were all out for 196.
