FRODSHAM’S bowlers turned in a superb performance to put them in a winning position at home to Cholmondeley – but then saw the batters throw it all away!
The visitors won the toss and elected to bat – and were bowled out for a modest 131 in 45 overs.
Skipper Matt Deakin took 3-15, Jamie London took 3-25 and James Palliser 2-20.
But for an unbeaten 53 by skipper Jude Mahadanaarachchi the Cholmondely innings would have been a shambles.
Frodsham’s innings turned out to be even worse as Daniel Connolly and Adam Crosby, who each scored 11, were the only two to reach double figures.
The innings closed on 61 all out in 24 overs, giving the visitors victory by 70 runs.
Frodsham 2nd also lost at Chester County Officers.
The home side hit a respectable 157-8 with Andrew Graham, 4-45 and Neil Duffy, 3-43, the pick of the Frodsham bowlers.
Frodsham were bowled out for 82, giving the CCO victory by 75.
D Halliwell, 19, was top scorer.
Kingsley won by 77 at home to Barrow.
Batting first, Kingsley hit 226-9 with skipper Ben Stoddart hitting 51, and Martyn Jenks 67.
Barrow were dismissed for 149 with Stoddart bagging 6-42 to complete a fine all-round performance.
Kingsley 2nd lost by 24 runs at Warrington where the home side hit 245-2 batting first.
Skipper Jamie Creek hit 131 but Kingsley were held to 221-8 in their 40 overs to lose by 24 runs.
Alvanley went down at Lindow after being bowled out for 84. The home side hit off the runs for the loss of three wickets.
