IT’S getting beyond a joke for members of Frodsham Cricket Club 1st XI.
Rain again forced their match to be cancelled – meaning that six weeks into the season they have still played only one match. And that one was lost.
This means the team lies at the bottom of the league.
Frodsham 2nd XI did manage to play – and also claim victory over Upton.
Batting first, Frodsham hit 125-5, T Halliwell top scoring with 47. Upton could only muster 113-6, Andrew Graham taking 3-24 for Frodsham.
Kingsley were knocked off the top of the table, sliding down to third place, as a result of losing at Ashley.
The home side batted first and hit a challenging 203-4, despite a good bowling performance from Ben Stoddart, who took 3-41.
Kingsley were bowled out for 132, Tody Mullings top scoring with 38 not out.
Kingsley 2nd lost by 92 runs hosting Ashley. Ashley hit 171m Jason Taylor bagging 3-37. But Kingsley were tumbled out for 79, Edward Leneghan top scoring with 17.
Stephen Charles took 4-19 as Alvanley held Upton to 128-8.
But Alvanley were dismissed for 97, despite plucky innings’ from Arthur Brummit, 27 and Alex Reid, 24.
The Alvanley 2nd XI game was rained off.
