Roger London's defiant 33

Roger London’s defiant 33 not out was not enough to save Frodsham

FRODSHAM suffered a severe mauling at the hands of visitors Winsford in their UKFast Cheshire League game on Saturday.

Winning the toss, skipper Matt Deakin decided to make the visitors bat first – and then saw them amass a formidable 268-4.
Jamie London, Thomas Burgess and Jaymie Smith picked up a wicket each, but the Frodsham bowlers toiled in vain for much of the afternoon against a powerful batting line-up.
After tea. Frodsham struggled for runs and were bowled out for a meagre 81 in the 36th over.
It would have been worse but for a defiant 33 not out from Roger London.
Frodsham 2nd fared much better, winning by 58-runs at Appleton.
Batting first they reached 219-8 in their 40 overs. The home side were held to 161-5.
Kingsley won their RSK Cheshire County League game despite losing both their openers for ducks.
Late hitting from wicket keeper Matthew Dunning, 66 and Tom Eyley, 76, enabled them to post a challenging 281 at Tattenhall.
The home side were dismissed for 204 with Michael Yeates taking 3-17 and Ben Stoddart 2-33.
Kingsley 2nd were beaten by five wickets after being bowled out for 122 at home by Oxton. Adrian Burden, with 41 and skipper Alex Wilson, 34, were the main run-getters.
But the total was never going to be enough to worry Oxton, who coasted to 125-5.
Burden took 2-31 and Peter Taylor 2-13
Alvanley won by four wickets entertaining Bollington, who were asked to bat first and held to 187-3.
Alex Reid hit 66 as Alvanley replied with 188-6 and there were also good innings from Chris Charles, 36 not out and Lee Ainsworth, 33 not out.
