When cricket’s greatest achievement was to be played at all!

RAIN wiped out league cricket for Frodsham at the weekend – but Kingsley and Alvanley managed to play.
Kingsley had a big win over Cheadle Hulme in a match limited to 37 overs at The Croft – a match which normally would have been more notable for being played at all than for the achievements on the pitch.

But Kingsley openers Harris Yassin, 94 and Ben Stoddart, 97, put on 193 for the first wickets and laid the platform for an eventual score of 271-4.
The visitors knew from the outset that victory was unlikely but made a good stab at it, hitting 142-5.
Alvanley 2nd managed to play their game at Port Sunlight, where the home side batted first and were dismissed for 100, Toby Honeysett taking 5-22 and Mike Heathcote 3-29.
After the interval, Alvanley hit off the runs for the loss of four wickets.
