FIVE fire crews were called out to tackle a house fire on Ashton Drive, Frodsham, yesterday evening, Friday.
Shortly before 6 pm fire engines, from Widnes, Birchwood and Penketh along with Lymm’s aerial ladder platform and supporting fire engine from Warrington, were called to reports of a house fire on Ashton Drive.
Crews rescued a casualty from the building who was taken into the care of the ambulance service. The crews in breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets and a covering jet to bring the fire under control.
The aerial ladder platform was used to put foam onto the solar panels on the roof as firefighters cut away at tiles and dampened down the building.
The property was ventilated and a fire investigation is to be carried out to determine the cause of the blaze.
