BUSINESSES across the Frodsham area have donated gifts to a campaign to make sure older people are not forgotten at Christmas.
The “Be a Santa to a Senior” campaign has been launched by care company Home Instead Senior Care.
They have collected gifts from local companies and hand-made Christmas cards from schools and they will be distributed to older people living in the community who might not otherwise receive a gift.
Businesses such as garden centres, nurseries, florists,
schools, bakeries, supermarkets, etc have joined the campaign.
The care company has been overwhelmed by the response from local businesses wanting to get involved.
Jane Pinnington, community relations co-ordinator at Home Instead said: “Our initiative is designed to show our valued seniors that their community has not forgotten them.
“We have paired with various local charities, churches and organisations to identify local people in need this Christmas who they can distribute the donated gifts to. “We are also working alongside police and the Cheshire Fire Service who will help to distribute cards to seniors across the area.
“We are so thankful to the many businesses who have donated gifts that we can distribute to seniors in the local area this Christmas, and to the local school children for so kindly making Christmas cards which will be delivered alongside the gifts. Such wonderful gestures from our local community!”
