Police appeal for witnesses after man hit with glass in Frodsham bar

POLICE are urging witnesses to come forward after a man was the victim of an unprovoked attack when he was hit on the side of the head with a glass in a Frodsham restaurant and bar.

The incident occurred at the Amore restaurant and bar on High Street at around 1.25am on Saturday 16 March.

The victim, a 35-year-old man from Runcorn, was stood at the bar when he was hit in the side of the head with a glass whilst he was not looking.

He sustained injuries as a result of the unprovoked attack that required hospital treatment.

Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and detectives are appealing for anyone who saw what happened, or has any other information that may help their investigation, to get in touch.

Detective Constable Kelly Birch, of Chester CID, said: “The victim was subjected to an unprovoked assault on a night out and sustained head and facial injuries that required hospital treatment.

“The incident has understandably left him extremely shaken up and we are determined to establish who assaulted him and make them face the consequences of their actions.

“Enquiries are ongoing and as part of our investigation we are appealing for anyone who was in the Amore restaurant and bar between 1.20am and 1.30am on Saturday 16 March and witnessed the incident to come forward.

“We also want to speak to anyone who believes they may have other information that may aid our investigation.”
