Pupils enjoy a visit to nursing home

CHILDREN who are members of the School Ethos Group at Frodsham CE Primary School visited the Chapel Fields Nursing Home, off Main Street, Frodsham to deliver handmade cards to residents and chat with them.

The group is also making and delivering chocolate angels for Christmas and is planning to develop a peace garden.

Youngsters who went on the trip said they enjoyed meeting Chapel Fields residents. Some of their comments were as follows:

Abigail ñ ìIt was really nice to see how much they enjoyed us visiting and how much of a difference it made.î

Mischa ñ ìIt was very special to see how happy they were as many of them hadnít seen family and friends in a long time and we are now their school family.î

Holly ñ ìI enjoyed chatting to all the people there and it was nice to talk to them because they were probably quite lonely.î

Bethany ñ ìIt felt really special that we got to hand out cards to the old people and it was a really good experience.î

Jessica ñ ìI felt like it was a really good opportunity to meet all the old people and see how much people can help by just giving them a smile.î

Lissa ñ ìWe made cards and it was really fun because we were going to send them to people in a home that were really lonely.î

Hanna ñ ìI really enjoyed it because I met a lady named Sue. We had a big chat and I really enjoyed it because they needed company.î

Aim of the school Ethos group is to build the schoolís community links and their positive ethos in school.
They meet weekly and have so far enjoyed writing letters to their link school in the Solomon Islands, selecting a Harvest Charity and helping to pack gifts.
